PIUT

Find your challenge

for unique challenges

Four picturesque villages, four incomparable faces, six extraordinary routes, and a single goal in mind: to show the ultimate endurance and willpower. The route of the PIUT takes runners through a sequence from See via Kappl and Galtür to Ischgl, with each section offering its own characteristic face and individual challenges.

Team Challenge: Are you the best Ultra Trail team in all levels of difficulty? Then take part in the team competition! The five runners (mixed) who achieve the shortest overall time on all five courses will receive a prize money of 1,000 Euro! Second and third place will also be rewarded with 700 Euro and 500 Euro respectively.

The pro Challenge 1 is the second longest route of the PIUT. It starts in See and leads over 85 km and 5,200 metres in altitude to Kappl and Galtür to the finish in Ischgl. The route runs along stages 1, 2, 7 and 4 of the Paznaun High Route and passes prominent points such as the Ascher Hütte, the Alpe Gamperthun, the Niederelbehütte, the Rauher Kopf and the Berglisee before finishing in Ischgl. This challenge is aimed at the most experienced trail runners and offers a combination of extreme climbs, technical passages and breathtaking views of the alpine surroundings.

The intense challenge of the PIUT starts in Kappl and stretches from there over 50 km and 3,100 metres in altitude to Galtür and Ischgl. The first section of the route runs backwards along parts of stage 7 of the Paznaun High Route and passes the Diasalpe and the Niederelbehütte. On the southern side of the valley, the route continues via Innerbergli and Außerbergli to Galtür, after which the final section leads leisurely along the valley path to Ischgl.  This run offers an intense challenge that leads through the picturesque and varied alpine landscape of the Paznaun and requires both physical and mental endurance.

The ultimate challenge of the PIUT starts in Galtür and runs over 30 km and 2,500 metres in altitude on the north-western side of the valley to Ischgl. Based on stage 5 of the Paznaun High Route, the route leads over the Zeinissee lake to the Friedrichshafener Hütte lodge. There you run a high alpine loop, followed by the descent to Mathon. Due to its high alpine character, this Skyrace should not be underestimated despite the comparatively low number of kilometres and is designed for experienced runners.

The PIUT tough challenge starts in Ischgl and leads over 20 km and 1,300 metres in altitude through the alpine landscape between Ischgl and Galtür. The majority of the route runs along stage 4 of the Paznaun High Route and passes picturesque places such as the Pardatscher See, the Rauher Kopf and the Berglisee. The route challenges runners with demanding climbs and rewards them with breathtaking views. Ideal for anyone who wants to test their limits and enjoy the beauty of nature.
